Long time, no speak. Big woop wanna fight about it?

Anyway, I'm dead bored and thought "HEY time for an update!" So that's what I'm doing right here.

So I suppose the biggest thing to update on is the fact that, 6 weeks ago, I moved 360 miles away from home to go to University in Scarborough, North Yorkshire! What can I say? I love it here, would probably be the best thing to say. When I arrived on Saturday 26th September, I was shit scared but also the most excited person ever. It was a lovely day with the warmth of Summer still hanging around and clear, bright blue skies as I pulled into campus with my Mother and her Boyfriend. The 7 seater people carrier had been converted into a moving van for the weekend with all of my belongings packed into the back in about...7 large boxes. We had to report to security, and this is where the fun begins as I find out that I am on the top floor. Oh joy. What's that mister? No lifts? Grand. As we begin to lug my possessions out of the car we are joined by two girls who look to be about my age and they inform me they are my "Freshers Parents". Basically, two people who visit the block you are staying in and then discuss any problems you might have etc... they're really lovely and they offer to help me carry all my crap up the stairs and I gladly accept.

So, ten minutes later (the freshers parents have left) we're crammed into my room with my Mother fussing over small details and starting to make the bed and checking the shower and toilet works - basically doing motherly things. I manage to get her to stop and explain it's all fine and I'll sort it out later. So... this is when she says that it's time for them to go. It was kinda hard saying goodbye to someone I've lived with for 18 years... knowing that this is the big first step out into the world and that, for the next year, this room would be my home. I tried to keep optimistic as we had a hug and said goodbye.. knowing I wouldn't say hello for another 13 weeks. Even now thinking about it 6 weeks on.. It still gets me a bit.

Anyway, long story short, they left and there I was... room all unpacked.. posters on the wall.. photos all over the place. I looked out the window wondering what the next 3 years would hold for me when I got a call from my friend Katie saying she had arrived. I've known Katie for 7 years and we're awesome friends. Just happened to be fate we were going to the same uni and doing the same course. So I went to meet her and helped her unpack and we then just spent the rest of the evening sat around waiting for people to turn up. I met 4 really good friends. Shaun from Newcastle.. he's a girl that disguises himself as a lads lad and he's probably the funniest guy I've met here yet. Jess... she's just brilliant. Absolutely lovely in every single way, and a fantastic friend to have on a night out. Would take Elvis rising from the grave and knowing her life story to even make this girl blink in fear. Then you have Luciana... the mummy of the group. She's again, just a lovely, lovely person. :) And Kirsten.. the girl across from me. She is definetly the hostest with the mostest. So yeah that's that.

There was a freshers party we all went to and and everyone got a bit drunk so we decided to go to town. It was brilliant. We all got very, very drunk and danced like mad. Was great. Despite this creepy guy called Rob who said he was straight but his actions sort of.. didn't make this so clear.

Anyway. Since then there's been loads going on. We've seen loads of performances on our course which were mostly brilliant. Let's just say I'm not Alan Ayckbourne's biggest fan. Our course is fantastic and the lecturers are like your best friend. A couple of them come down to the pubs and stuff and join us for drinks which is always a good laugh. The biggest criticism of the course for me? It's not intensive enough. 9 hours a week is not enough for me. Not by a long shot. I want the University to immerse me in theatre! Anyway, besides this I've become heavily involved in the dance society! I'm secretary for it and also a dancer. I fucking love it. It's amazing and I can feel myself getting fitter every time we do it! It's great!

There's not much else important to report. Other than I handed in my first assignment on Monday, which I personally think was kick-ass. Just waiting to find out what the tutor thought of it!

Peace outttt, and take care!
